#1- it was all VERY rural and you could go crazy there (we're talkin' two states away from a decent mall),
#2- I thought I would completley lose it being away from my Chugbug for a whole week (thanks g-ma's for taking such good care of him)
#3- it was 11 hours in the car with two kids fighting like cats and dogs. Ok they were actually really great on the road, but even the best of them can rattle the nerves.
Here I am crossing into state #46, only 4 more left.
This is the Crazy Horse monument. Upon completion it will be the largest monument in the world. At the rate they're going, we won't see it finished in our lifetime, but they are determined to get it done someday. So far it's just a face and they've worked for 50 years. Mount Rushmore can fit on Crazy Horse's cheek.
Now for some random shots . . . This is one of my cherished beauties (by Orla Kiely) oh, and Zoey looks pretty cute here too.
Thanks for having the great idea for this trip, Lance. It really was one of our funnest; the kids liked it better than Disneyland. It's about the same distance as Callifornia is, and I can pretty much guarantee you'll spend less money; (gas in Wy was only $3.58/gallon for one thing) so I highly recommend Rapid City, SD if you're looking for a fun family destination.

Looks like fun! Love your tag a long and your purse! Funny pictures!
I'm ready for a fun vacation about now! What great parents just doing things that the kids would love. It will be trip that will never be forgotten. I would like to see Lance cruising the mini van. I would of loved to have Chaz for you. Lucy would have smothered him to death. Sorry for causing you such worry over your mail.
That does sound like a good cheap vacay. Austin hated Disneyland so what the heck, why not try SD? Loved all the pics and the newest family member you picked up - very funny! Looks like it turned out to be a diamond in the rough - (is that the right saying?)
I went online and had this almost exact same trip planned out for our family this summer. We did it when I was little and it was my favorite trip. We went to Vegas w/o kids instead, sorry kids. but after seeing the fun time you had maybe we will make it next year. I told you SD was fun.
Okay, so my grandma lives in Wisconsin and this was our family trip every other year. No Disneyland, no beach and no mini van with airconditioning!! Really I'm not bitter!! JK! It was a lot of fun and I have great memories of riding in the back of my dad's truck, under the camper shell with those carpet inserts dipping towels in the ice water from our cooler so we wouldn't sweat to death. And then I end up going to UND. SD is highly underrated though, it is a cool place to go. It sounds like it was a great family trip and I loved the added member of the fam.
What a fun vacation! Mt. Rushmore looks amazing. Your kids look so cute too! It was really good to see you this summer. I miss Utah already. Although it was nice to get back on schedule today for the first day of school.
Also, I mostly loved Breaking Dawn. I had a few small issues with it, but loved the ending and Edward!
